Founded in 1966, Cohiba has always been considered synonymous with high-quality Cuban cigars. The brand was originally founded by Fidel Castro and was secretly manufactured in the El Laguito factory. It adheres to the three inherent principles of "selecting and reselecting" raw materials, undergoing three fermentations, and insisting on employing highly qualified rolling workers for production. At that time, it was only used by Castro as a gift to foreign political friends. It was not until 1982 that it began to be sold on the international market. Today, the brand is world-renowned and is sought after by many cigar lovers. It often scores high in blind tastings by Cigar Aficionado.
